JUSTIN LAVENUE: Big Brother & Head Bitter-er
Justin Lavenue is a deeply spiritual thinker. Not, “who would win in a fight, Buddha or Jesus” spiritual. More like, “tequila or mescal”, “gin or vodka”, “cognac or whiskey” spiritual. And on matters of Spirit he is deeply convicted. They are all good, in the right place and the right measure.
In addition to his role as Head Bartender (he prefers that to “mixologist”) at The Bitter Bar, Justin is the Brand Ambassador for Dancing Pines Distillery. His love of all things spirituous also extends into an entrepreneurial endeavor that (he hopes) will turn the mechanics of mixing a drink on its ear. At The Bitter Bar, he is also the Head Bitter-er, producing in-house, 8 different varieties of bitters, including the revolutionary Sous-vide Amer Picon, from his own closely held recipe. Lastly, he is House Factotum and “Older Brother” to the front of house staff on all matters of Spirit.
A recent graduate of CU Leeds School of Business and Class Valedictorian, Justin strives to live a balanced life. When not at work, he can be found winning prestigious cocktail competitions with drinks such as the “Amber Wave”, shooting hoops, or planning to take over the spirit world (the liquor one, not the ghost one).
